Dulwich College Deputy Master visits Dehong for first time
Each year, Dulwich College’s Deputy Master from London, Dr Cameron Pyke, visits the Dulwich College International schools around the world to review our curriculum in practice, assess academic performance and audit the overall standards of the Colleges. The audit by our Founding School is extremely rigorous and directly links to our network’s reputation of providing a world-class education in an international setting.
On Tuesday 12 December, he made his inaugural visit to our recently opened sister school, Dehong Chinese International School, in Shanghai. Accompanied by Dehong’s founding Headmaster Mr Fei, Dr Pyke toured various areas of the campus, and attended school classes. He responded positively to the bilingual instruction at Dehong, and learned more about the curriculum and school life from the Head Boy and Girl over lunch.
Students from the Dehong Student News club also had the opportunity to interview Dr Pyke, where he gave them useful advice about how to utilize one’s time at school and to take advantage of the offerings at Dehong.
At the end of the day Dr Pyke reported that he was pleased by the achievements made by the staff and students in Dehong’s first three months, and he praised Mr Fei’s endeavour to build an innovative and robust curriculum combining the best elements of a Chinese education with Dulwich pedagogy.
