Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

On Monday, 20 May we held a graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024.

The highlight of the day was the graduation ceremony held at the Mei Lanfang Theater. Each graduate was invited on stage, where they received a special pin and their graduation certificate from the Head of College and Head of Senior School. The ceremony included inspiring speeches from the Head of College, the Head of the Senior School, and student representatives.

Mr. Garry Russell, the Head of College, broke tradition by reflecting on the legendary adventures of Ernest Shackleton, one of Dulwich's most famous alumni, encouraging the students to carry the six core values of Dulwich Pudong - respect, integrity, responsibility, resilience, kindness, and inclusivity - wherever they go.

"Stand up for what you believe, show compassion to those around you. Be brave and never give up. So you will ultimutely make postive difference to the world"

Alison Derbyshire, the Head of the Senior School, acknowledged the students' dedicated efforts in their IB studies over the past year. She emphasized that while IB results are important, they do not fully define the unique qualities and talents of each student.

"Define yourself, you’re the only person that gets to decide who you are, what you stand for and what you’re capable of. Right here, right now, you’re more than enough and we are all incredibly proud of you"

The traditional tree-planting activity and Alleynian Walk, which are an integral part of the graduation day, continued this year.

The Class of 2024 planted a sapling that will grow alongside them in the coming years, symbolizing their lasting connection to Dulwich Pudong.

The graduates and their parents then visited DUCKS, where they were treated to performances and blessings from the youngest learners in the school. The prefects, about to graduate, shared their experiences and words of wisdom with their younger peers. It was an emotional moment for both parents and students, often accompanied by tears, as they reflected on the past and looked forward to the future.
