Dulwich Voice: A Week in Review
Our students have achieved remarkable success across music, aquatics, and tennis in the past week. At the Wind Band Festival, our musicians showcased outstanding talent and collaboration in a finale performance. In the pool, our artistic swimmers excelled at the Yangtze River Delta Challenge, with Sherry C. and Claire T. winning silver medals and Jessica J. placing seventh. On the courts, our tennis teams demonstrated great spirit at the SISAC Tournament, with Osric and Bruce securing third place in doubles. These achievements highlight our students' dedication and skill across diverse areas.
On Friday, 10 October, our talented Dulwich Pudong musicians joined students from SAS Pudong, SCIS Pudong, and YCIS Pudong for the SAS Pudong Middle School Wind Band Festival — a full day of music, collaboration, and creativity!
More than 80 students from Years 7–9 rehearsed seven brand-new pieces throughout the day before taking the stage for a fantastic finale performance for parents and staff.
A huge well done to our Dulwich students for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and outstanding musicianship — you represented our school beautifully and made us proud!
The 2025 Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Junior Sports Challenge in artistic swimming was held on Sunday, 5 October at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. Over 108 athletes from 10 clubs and schools across four provinces participated in the competition. DCS-Suti’s three girls competed in three artistic swimming events. They performed extremely well in the individual events of different age groups.
· Sherry C (Year 12) won the silver medal in the Solo event of the group U15 and over.
· Claire T (Year 3) won the silver medal in the U6-9.
· Jessica J (Year 5) was the youngest participant in the 10-12 age group, performing perfectly and achieving a remarkable seventh place.
Congratulations to them for the achievements!
On Saturday, 11 October, six of our school’s tennis players competed in the SISAC Tournament. Dana K, Jennifer X, Sophie L, Ryne S, Osric Y, and Bruce L played singles and doubles matches, led by coach Erwin from Tennis Partners SportED, to whom we extend our thanks.
The tournament, hosted by Concordia International School, featured nine international schools. Our doubles pairs (Jennifer/Sophie & Osric/Bruce) played indoors, while our singles players (Dana & Ryne) battled on the rooftop in scorching heat.
Highlights included a win and a loss for Ryne, and strong, combative play from Dana. The favored doubles pair of Osric and Bruce secured third place. Jennifer and Sophie, first-time partners, impressed with spot-on volleys and a notable play that put an opponent on the ground.
Despite narrowly missing the podium, our Panthers showcased incredible team spirit and a positive attitude. We are proud of our athletes and thank the parents for their support. The mission for a trophy continues.
