Each week, we share the successes, milestones and special moments that make our Dulwich Pudong community so unique.

From solemn ceremonies that connect us with history to competitive arenas that test our limits, each experience cultivates the skills and perspectives that shape exceptional individuals.

Remembrance Day

1

On 11 November, our Junior School and Senior School communities came together for a solemn ceremony honouring Remembrance Day.

Originally established as Armistice Day in 1918 to mark the end of the First World War, Remembrance Day is now observed in the UK and many other nations as a time to reflect on the sacrifices of war and the precious value of peace.

The ceremony saw students and staff wearing poppy badges in quiet tribute. During the assembly, participants listened to moving addresses, appreciated string performances and viewed student-prepared presentations that offered thoughtful interpretations of this significant history.

The event reached its powerful conclusion with a minute of silent reflection, honouring those who protected peace. This was followed by the traditional solo performance of 'The Last Post', whose resonant notes filled the auditorium, bringing the ceremony to a deeply meaningful close.

SAS-ISB Swimming Invitational

From 31 October to 2 November, our AquaPanthers swim team demonstrated exceptional skill at the Elite Swimming Invitational hosted by SASPX. This prestigious meet brought together seven leading international schools from Shanghai and five renowned institutions from Beijing, creating an intensely competitive environment.

Our team of 35 swimmers competed against more than 500 athletes from participating schools, ultimately achieving an outstanding second-place finish in the overall team standings. The AquaPanthers excelled across multiple categories: our girls' 13-14 group secured second place, while both the boys' 9-10 and girls' 9-10 groups earned third-place honours.

Multiple swimmers broke competition records, and an impressive 73% of our athletes achieved personal best times. Particularly inspiring was how many team members voluntarily challenged themselves with longer-distance events, displaying remarkable courage and resilience.

The most heartwarming aspect of the competition was the constant support from our parent cheer squad. Their enthusiastic encouragement provided unwavering support throughout the event, deepening our swimmers' determination and repeatedly elevating the competitive spirit.

Shanghai Swim League Development Meet

Friday, 7 November, was a thrilling day for our 8 & Under Aqua Panthers as they dove into their first official swim event of the year. Five schools from across Shanghai gathered at our pool for the SSL Development Round 1, where our young swimmers eagerly showcased the potential and passion for the future of the Shanghai Swimming League.

Our 27 Aqua Panther and DSA swimmers raced their hearts out in the following events:

They impressed everyone—coaches, parents, and competitors alike!

With a focus on fun, sportsmanship and fostering a love of swimming, the event featured no timers, medals, or ribbons. Instead, the pool deck was filled with cheers as swimmers encouraged each other to achieve their personal best.

It was a heartwarming experience to see our community come together to celebrate these young athletes. We are confident this will inspire them to continue making waves for years to come!

We can't wait to see them make another splash at future competition. Congratulations to all our future champions!
