The Dulwich Gala Ball: A Glitz and Glamour Extravaganza

The Dulwich 20th anniversary Gala Ball at the Peninsula Hotel was a night of swinging splendour and nostalgia as guests were transported back to the roaring 20s.

We were immensely privileged to have esteemed guests at this gala, including Fraser White, the visionary Founder of Dulwich College Shanghai, and Barbara Amono-Oceng, the Deputy Consul-General of the UK in Shanghai, who graced us with their presence to share in the jubilation of Dulwich Pudong's 20th anniversary. Moreover, we were delighted to receive heartfelt video blessings from renowned actor Hu Ge （胡歌）and a joy-filled message from singer and former Dulwich Pudong parent Sun Yue（孙悦）, who despite feeling unwell, dialled in for a live video call. The evening was further illuminated by the presence of distinguished TV hosts Cao Kefan （曹可凡） and Jin Wei（金炜）from SMG, adding an extra sparkle to the festivities. 

Joining us also from EiM, the education group to which Dulwich Pudong belongs, were David Yung, the Chief Investment Officer ; Louisa Lu ,the Chief Financial Officer ; David Fitzgerald, the Global Director of Education (International) ; and Marianne Rehn, the Group Director of Admissions, Marketing, Communications, Market Insights, and Customer Experience. 

The presence of the esteemed guests, accompanied by the leadership team of Dulwich Pudong, undoubtedly contributed to making this celebration an unforgettable evening. Their collective presence fostered a sense of joy and unity as they came together with members of our school community, leaving a lasting impression that will be treasured.

Parents embraced the Great Gatsby-inspired dress code, immersing themselves in the spirit of the era.

The stage came alive with the captivating music of a live swing band, Alec and the Shindiggers, as guests danced and swayed to Shanghai's best swing tunes, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Professional dancers provided swing dance instructions, allowing everyone to embrace vintage grooves on the dance floor.

As a part of the Dulwich Pudong 20th anniversary celebration, we had the distinct honor of inviting the dedicated founding staff members who have been with us since the very beginning, contributing to the school's success over the past two decades. Their presence at the gala ball added a profound sense of pride and camaraderie, as they joined in the festivities and shared in the well-deserved recognition of their remarkable journey.
