Get Ready for School

Along with the Welcome Pack you have received by email from the Dulwich Pudong Admissions department, these webpages will assist you in getting ready for joining the College.

Click the block below for the essential tips you need to know before getting started.
Essentials
- If you wish to take the school bus, please submit your application by 15 June 2024 through this link.
- Bus Service is optional and available to children from Nursery age and above.
- You will receive a confirmation of application from the Bus Service Team within two working days.
- If your application is successful, you will then be sent a bill for service, and your Bus Monitor will be in touch before 16 or 17 August with details on pick up/drop off times and locations.
- If unsuccessful, the Bus Service Team will be in touch within two working days to make alternative suggestions.
- On CCA days (Wednesday for DUCKS, and Tuesday and Wednesday for Main campus), All buses will run an hour later. Additional CCA late buses are available on Main Campus on Monday\Thursday\Friday but require sign-up and are timed to support most CCAs. CCA bus signs up will take place w/c 2 September.

Laptops
- From Year 6 and above, we ask students to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to empower learning at home and access collaboration tasks.
- Please read the BYOD guidelines here to ensure your child’s device is suitable.
- If you do not have one already, please purchase a device before orientation day.
- Please drop off your child's device at Main Campus Gate 2 anytime between August 5-17, 9am-4pm.The guard will call IT to collect the device and physically install the appropriate apps and programmes.

Calculator
- From Year 9 and above, students will need to have a graphical display calculator (GDC).
- Both IB and iGCSE examinations have questions that specifically require the use a GDC and the school teachers calculator skills within class.
- Please purchase the Texas Instruments TI-nSpire CX calcuator (not the CAS version).
- Questions related to calculators can be directed to the Senior School Maths Department.
When you join Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong, you automatically become a member of Friends of Dulwich, also known as FoD.
FOD is the school parent association made up of active parent volunteers. They do a fantastic job of supporting, connecting, and enriching the community through a variety of parents events and activities. These include but not limited to luncheons, newcomers welcome events, coffee mornings, interest groups, service and charity work.
- For campus security, only people wearing a School Lanyard can access the College.
- Parents and other trusted family members or guardians can request a Lanyard to allow them to pick up their children.
- Please apply for your Lanyard by clicking this link.
- Your Lanyard(s) can be collected on Orientation Day (Friday 16 August for Senior School and Saturday 17 August for DUCKS and Junior School)
- The first two Lanyards are provided for free. Subsequent Lanyards will cost RMB30.

- Students have the option of bringing a packed lunch or choosing School Lunch provided by our Food and Catering Services provider.
- You will receive an activation notice on Monday 5 August with details of how to top up your child’s lunch account.
- If you choose School Lunch, you will need to credit your account before the first day of school on Monday 19 August.
