Year 3 Group Leader
Mary had completed a BA in English and Greek and Roman Civilisation at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Following this, she worked in a primary school in Ireland teaching and supporting children with learning difficulties, before moving to London two years later. Mary then completed a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education (Masters) in Primary Education at St. Mary’s University in Twickenham. She completed her NQT year in an outstanding primary school in London teaching Year 3 and holding the role of EAL Coordinator before deciding to move overseas, to the Middle East. She taught Year 1 for one year, before being promoted to KS2 Curriculum Coordinator and then Deputy Head of the Primary School. Currently in her 4th year at Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong, she has been teaching and leading the Year 3 Team thoroughly enjoying being back in the classroom. She feels it is a pleasure working with so many dedicated and experienced colleagues in the Junior School with lots of opportunities for professional dialogue and development. In her free time she enjoys reading, film, photography and travel, especially learning about new cultures and customs. Whilst in Shanghai she has had the pleasure of exploring not only this impressive city but also many regions throughout China and Asia and look forward to many more unique experiences.
