Assistant Head of Key Stage One
Tony has a BA in Primary Education and Mathematics from the University of Bradford, West Yorkshire. His teaching qualification is in teaching all subjects in the primary age range (3-11 years old) with a specialist focus in the area of Mathematics. As an undergraduate he spent a year in rural China, Shaanxi province, teaching oral English and promoting global development aims through workshops as part of a Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) initiative. After graduating he spent several years teaching in the UK, mainly in London, before moving abroad to work in international schools in Vietnam and Egypt. At the start of his career he worked in Key Stage 2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) while over the last few years he has enjoyed teaching in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2). Tony is enjoying many aspects about living in China once again, particularly in further developing his understanding of the language and the culture. He is a keen traveller and has an avid interest in history and international politics. He also enjoys running and taking part in running events.
