Celebrating Intercultural and Diversity Week

ME Day at DUCKS

Dulwich Pudong recently hosted a week of events designed to highlight awareness around two key elements of our Global Citizenship programme - Intercultural Understanding and Diversity.

Intercultural and Diversity Week was designed to celebrate and explore diverse local and global cultures, fostering empathy, connections and deeper understanding among students. From DUCKS to Year 13, our whole community participated in a range of engaging activities.

During this year’s first Impact Day, which are special learning days focused on one topic, Year 8 explored different perspectives through creative projects that promoted allyship and inclusivity. For their Impact Days later in the week, Year 12 reflected on personal identity and privilege, creating various media that highlighted the issue of equity, while Year 13 enhanced their cultural understanding, assisted by a UNESCO protocol-inspired Story Circle.

Additional activities included interactive assembly presentations by Senior School GC Prefects, emphasising the importance of valuing every voice, and an adaptive sports session for Junior School students, inspired by the Paralympics to foster respect and empathy for individuals with disabilities.

The week culminated in a vibrant ‘Me Day’ celebration across the College, where students proudly showcased their cultural identities by wearing outfits with a special meaning to them.

At Dulwich Pudong, we ‘Value Every Voice’ and are committed to nurturing an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and encourages every member of our community to embrace their unique identity.
