Early Years Students Take to the Stage with Enchanting Voices

Students aged 2 - 5 years at DUCKS recently had the incredible opportunity to showcase their talents on the stage of the Mei Lan Fang Theatre. This remarkable experience marked a significant milestone for our youngest learners, as they fearlessly took centre stage to deliver a captivating performance. Guided by their dedicated teachers, these young performers left a lasting impression on the audience with their confidence, language skills, and commitment to sustainability.

A Memorable Debut

Stepping onto the Mei Lan Fang Theatre stage for the first time, the students from DUCKS eagerly embraced the spotlight. Despite their tender age, they rose to the occasion, fearlessly performing an entire song in both Chinese and English. Their seamless bilingual delivery showcased not only their linguistic abilities but also their unwavering self-assurance. The audience was enthralled, witnessing the remarkable talent and dedication displayed by these young performers.

Themes of Sustainable Development

The songs performed by the students were intricately woven with the theme of sustainable development. The bilingual lyrics of each musical piece were carefully crafted to incorporate the unique characteristics of the protected animals associated with each class. Through their artistic expression, these young learners not only entertained but also imparted important messages of sustainability to the audience.

Collaboration and Support

As a charitable organization that DUCKS has been actively supporting, the school's partnership with the Dream Foundation holds a special place in fostering philanthropy and making a positive difference.

The presence of the Dream Foundation’s representatives at the event not only provided encouragement to the young performers but also highlighted the power of collaboration between educational institutions and charitable initiatives. Their involvement served as a reminder of the importance of giving back to the community and instilling values of empathy and compassion in the students of DUCKS.

This year, we had special guests: Fiona Angel, Senior Deputy, and Andy Threadgould, Deputy Master Academic, from Dulwich College, our founding school in London, who attended an Early Years Concert during their annual inspection visit. Our Early Years kids and community impressed them, and they commented, "It was a pleasure to visit the College. Garry and his team should be commended for the warmth, quality, and commitment of their vision, and the College feels vibrant and energized."
