IB Conference took place at the TOP IB school in China

The recently concluded IB Conference at Dulwich Pudong brought together 130 teachers from the Asia-Pacific region, marking a significant gathering of experienced IB educators. The event aimed to provide comprehensive teacher training through a series of workshops focused on various subjects within the IB Diploma Programme.

Attendees comprised mainly of Senior School teachers, hailing from diverse backgrounds across the Asia-Pacific region. The workshop leaders hailed from the same region, while the IB staff represented the IB office in Singapore, adding a valuable local perspective to the conference.

The conference covered a range of IB Diploma Programme subjects, including Mathematics Analysis and Approaches, Mathematics Applications and Interpretations, Mandarin B, Sports Exercise and Health, Global Politics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Environmental Systems and Societies. These workshops allowed participants to delve deep into their respective subjects and explore effective teaching methodologies.

One of the conference highlights was the Collaborative Science Project, where Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Sports, Exercise and Health teachers collaborated to solve a scientific problem. This hands-on activity challenged them to think like IB students and apply principles from multiple disciplines. Other engaging sessions involved assessing different assessment components, sparking lively debates and discussions among teachers as they justified their marks and compared them to those awarded by the Principal Examiner.
