Did you know that the DCSPD community is comprised of students holding 43 different national passports? Our amazing, intercultural community of students celebrated both diversity and unity through the power of teamwork and music to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the UN Charter on 24 October 1945.

Eclectic music from different continents filled the halls over the past week across the three schools as Junior School, and Senior School students partnered, pairing older Year students with younger Years, to create and record unique music. The myriad of tunes was brought together on Wednesday when the rhythms were enjoyed by the whole College. “Music creates both a shared experience and shared understanding,” reflected Ms Oushu Lin. “Our students grew in relationships with one another as well as grasping a deeper appreciation of the music from another culture.”

Intercultural events and inter-age activities like UN Day foster ways in which our students gain self-awareness and where they demonstrate compassion, inclusivity, and respect. “We are passionate to provide forums that foster greater understanding and awareness among students, which are seeds for building friendships, peace and collaboration,” said Mr Anthony Reich.
