Alex Snadden

Deputy Head of Junior School

Background

After undertaking his PGCE at the University of East Anglia in Norfolk, UK, Mr Snadden taught at a large primary school on the north Norfolk coast for several years. He joined the Senior Leadership Team there, and led both English and lower Key Stage 2. Mr Snadden also became a qualified Special Leader of Education (SLE) where he travelled to various schools in the region to work with teachers on developing their practice. He also worked for a National Teaching school, guiding recently qualified teachers into the next steps in their careers.

He then decided that the lure of teaching abroad was too much to resist and moved to the bright lights of Shanghai two years ago. He took on the role as the Head of Primary English at a large bilingual school in Puxi, where he developed their language curriculum and EAL practice whilst also teaching Year 6. After joining Dulwich Pudong, he spent one year as Year 5 leader before being appointed Deputy Head of the Junior School in charge of curriculum.

Mr Snadden enjoys reading, climbing, cycling, listening to interesting podcasts and traveling. He is also a keen cricket player and speaks both French and reasonable Mandarin.
